When it comes to androgenetic baldness

Psychological, hormonal, dietary and genetic factors: the most varied causes can be hidden behind hair loss. Specifically, hair loss takes the form of androgenetic baldness when two variables come into play at the same time: hormones and genetics. The term "androgenetics", in fact, is composed of two words: "andro", which indicates the role of androgens; and "genetics", which is related to the hereditary character of this disorder.

Anti-DHT therapies

Treatments against androgenetic baldness have a single common goal: to stop hair loss and promote their proper regrowth. To do this, since this disorder is related to hormonal and genetic factors, it is necessary to restore the correct levels of DHT, the male hormone responsible for androgenetic alopecia. Reducing dihydrotestosterone levels would automatically lead to the reduction of hair loss and the resumption of the normal hair regrowth cycle.

Can hair grow back?

For a long time, it was argued that
anti-hair loss therapies could promote hair regrowth, but that no more than two degrees of dysplasia could be recovered. In medicine, dysplasia is a term that is used to indicate a qualitative, quantitative and / or morphological change in a tissue. When we talk about degrees of dysplasia of the hair, we refer to a classification in six stages, where the sixth is represented by normal hair and the first by miniaturized hair, or the dying hair typical of baldness. Returning to past beliefs, therefore, a miniaturized hair from androgenetic alopecia could have never have returned to normal hair.

A new vision

However, the officially approved pharmacological treatments for androgenetic alopecia, namely oral finasteride and topical minoxidil, have shown that lost hair can grow back. The rule of two degrees of dysplasia is thus broken. To explain this theoretical contradiction, we must focus on the hair life cycle.

In addition to the four phases illustrated above, in fact, a new one has been introduced: the kenogen phase. It is a moment of pause, in which the follicles would not produce any new hair shaft, and it is precisely during this phase that the anti-baldness treatments go to act. In this way, they would decrease the time between one phase of hair growth and the next one and, by doing so, more hair would be found and thinned areas would be thicker.

Hair density and successeful results

In general, to evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment against androgenetic baldness, it is considered the increase in hair number with respect to the start of therapy. The concept of "hair density", that is the total number of hair per cm², becomes indispensable. Thanks to many clinical studies, today it is possible to know the percentages of  density recovery of hair affected by baldness of the most well-known pharmacological treatments:

  • Finasteride 1mg / day: + 7% after one year;
  • Minoxidil 5% 1ml + 1ml / day: + 10% after one year;
  • Oral minoxidil 5 mg / day: + 26% after six months;
  • Finasteride 1mg and Minoxidil 5%: + 50% intermediate and terminal after three months;
  • Dutasteride 2.5 mg / day: + 9% after one year.

Natural remedies for hair regrowth

Pharmacological treatments are just one of the possible ways to treat androgenetic baldness
The first step should always be to get in touch with an expert, a dermatologist able to analyze the clinical situation and diagnose the problem in detail.
If androgenetic alopecia (and not a seasonal scent or a temporary hair loss) is detected, it is possible to consider embarking on a natural therapeutic path by choosing an anti-DHT supplement.

These kind of supplement in fact, just like the drugs mentioned above, are able to slow down hair loss and restore the correct hair growth cycle. The great advantage of choosing a natural supplement like Kmax Stimulating Supplement Anti-DHT is that they minimize the possible unpleasant side effects that normal baldness drugs can cause, such as gynecomastia, water retention, fat accumulations and decreased libido. The supplement of the Kmax line has been formulated with the best active ingredients that have been scientifically proven to reduce the levels of DHT in the blood, such as Serenoa Repens, beta-sitosterol, nettle and zinc. Thanks to their inhibitory action, they counteract the miniaturization of the hair follicle and stimulate its correct regrowth.

If you want to know more about what anti-DHT supplements are and how they work, in this article you will find all the information you need.

Not just supplements

Anti-DHT supplements and drugs counteract baldness from the inside, but it is equally important to act directly on the thinned areas at the topical level. For this reason, it is essential to introduce adequate anti-hair loss shampoos and specific spray lotions into your routine. Kmax Stimulating Shampoo, being free of SLES and SLS, it is a gentle cleanser that does not alter the delicate balance of the epidermis. Next to the shampoo, it is also recommended to combine the respective conditioner, Kmax Stimulating Leave-In Conditioner, which allows to find the right level of softness and hydration of the hair, especially when alcohol-based anti-hair loss lotions are applied, that can really dehydrate the skin.

For an intensive topical treatment, Kmax Stimulating Hair Growth Therapy Spray is the ideal anti-hair loss and stimulating lotion. Thanks to its synergistic mix of powerful active ingredients (Triaminodil, azelaic acid, beta-sitosterol, nigella sativa, caffeine ...), it is able to inhibit the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme, the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT ( the hormone of androgenetic baldness). By doing this, hair loss is counteracted and the fallen hair can grow back according to the normal hair growth cycle.

The importance of a constant application

When dealing with problem as the androgenetic baldness, don't rush to see results and improvements is a must. Each treatment requires, in fact, constancy, regularity and patience. Another recommendation is to undertake appropriate therapies as soon as possible. The thinning, in fact, begins to become evident when half of the hair is lost; while, the transition zones are those areas where hair loss is more recent. Acting on the latter allows you to avoid reaching serious thinning and it is far more likely that the results will be better on an aesthetic level.

And do not forget! While waiting for the pharmacological, natural and / or topical treatments to take effect, it is possible to hide the thinned areas through specific hair make-up products. This category includes hair fibers, hair foundation and colored spray. These are hair products aimed at masking the thinning caused by baldness and which in a few seconds are able to make the hair thicker and more homogeneous. Find out in this article all the tricks to best apply Kmax hair fibers.
